CORNERSTONE CO-OP APPOINTS NEW CEO

The Board of Directors, Leadership and Team at Cornerstone Co-op are pleased to announce Kory Kralkay as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Kory brings over 26 years of Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) experience to the table, starting his connection with Co-op as a food and delivery clerk in his high school years. His career progressed through several different positions and numerous training programs with six separate retail associations (including Cornerstone Co-op) and with Federated Co-op Limited (FCL). Kory has been in leadership roles for 22 years; including 5 years as General Manager experience with retails; 2 years as Retail Advisor with FCL Edmonton Region; and most recently for the last 7 years as Director of Operations with Cornerstone Co-op. Kory is very committed to Cornerstone's vision, Investing in People and Business to Share Local Profits for Generations and Purpose Statement, Making Life Better in our Communities and is very proud of the contributions that Cornerstone continues to uphold including investing $10,000/day back into their local communities, groups, owners and events.

Kory is an advocate of continuous learning and has completed a Certificate in Business Management through Dalhousie University; and completed the Queen’s Advanced Executive Certificate through Smith School of Business in 2023. Kory grew up in Wadena, Saskatchewan, and has moved throughout several different communities in Saskatchewan and Alberta within his career. Kory and his wife Shaunah who is a combined Lab & X Ray tech in Vermilion & Elk Point, have two children, Avery and Jonas, and they will continue to be located in Vermilion. Kory is excited/ready to continue with Cornerstone in his new capacity and continue to serve the community.

Outside of work, Kory enjoys volunteering at several local events such as Haying in the 30's, Rotary Garage Sale, and events such as the Amazing Race, Taste of Vermilion, Art in the Park and Savour, all of which are organized by the Vermilion's Goodlife Institute. He is also very active within the Vermilion community, taking on roles of Minor ball Coach, Rotarian member and he is the past Vermilion Chamber of Commerce President.
